So 2018 starts out with a great deal of possibility. I’m quitting work after years of the 9 to 5, and have the world open as to what to do.
One obvious thing is to write more, both my novels and blog. And of course the usual ‘get healthy,’ ‘eat right,’ and ‘exercise.’ Blah, blah, blah.
I think though – I’m up for adventure. Husband and I have a trip planned to explore the Northern Pacific Coast which I’ve never done. Being close to the Bay area we’ve explored the central coast often. So we’re off to Washington by plane and drive down the coast from there.
Another adventure planned is a full day of whale watching. I’ve been on watches before. The best I’ve seen are some whale tails and one remarkable time we witnessed whale sex. Yes. Sex. I actually took the lucky picture of a whale penis. It makes you really think about swimming in the oceans…
And now another brainstorm. My mum is finally going to leave her house after 40 years. Inside it are over 60 years of stuff which needs to be donated or trashed to accommodate her real needs in a one bedroom apartment. We know that I’m going to be cleaning the house out. It will take a week or two, but I can organize the crap out of anything and I’m a get ‘er done kind of person. So here’s the brainstorm….
I want to take one of my dogs on a road trip. California to Massachusetts. YES! Cody, my 11 year old Golden is my choice due to his calm demeanor and tendency to sleep a lot. I’m mapping out routes to see the country with my buddy, and make that adventure one for us all. Sort of On The Road With Cody. I figure it will be months away, but it gives me time to plan.
I figure a northern route going east and southern coming back (Route 66 anyone?). Ideas? Recommendations??
